With the start of the official competition just around the corner, Ezequiel Schelotto added his first minutes with the Racing jersey in the second friendly against VƩlez at the Cilindro.
Under a bright sun and a somewhat high temperature, the match against FortĆn was discreet, to the point that there were no clear goal plays. But Schelotto was the first reinforcement of the season to step on the green grass and began to add filming under Pizzi.
The Galgo played as a leading marker on the right and was constantly projected in attack, especially during the first half. He had no major problems at the brand although he was somewhat lacking in rhythm, a logical question given how little he has played in recent months.
Already in the second half, the player who spent more than 12 years in the old continent, put a spike of almost 40 meters, he felt somewhat tired and from the bench they decided to replace him so as not to take any risk. In the almost 60 minutes he played, he did not shine but he rose to the occasion. As you acquire a greater football rhythm, you will begin to observe it in its true dimension.
After knowing the news that Fabricio DomĆnguez tested positive for CoVid-19 in the last hours, between Pillud and Schelotto they will fight for a position to get into the starting lineup against the Drill next Friday.
Racing’s eleven in Schelotto’s debut
Juan Antonio Pizzi gave minutes to several experienced players but also took the opportunity to give room to some youths from the Tita Mattiussi Stadium. The 11? Gastón Gómez; Ezequiel Schelotto, Juan CĆ”ceres, Lucas Orban, Prado; Tiago Banega, Patricio Tanda, JuliĆ”n López; Alan OrtĆz, NicolĆ”s Reniero and HĆ©ctor FĆ©rtoli.
In the second half, ElĆas Machuca came in instead of Schelotto, Kevin GutiĆ©rrez for Tanda, Lucas Núñez for FĆ©rtoli and Leandro Godoy for Reniero.
