One of the greatest legacies of the three-time world champion Formula 1Ayrton Senna is not on the tracks, in fact he is far from the circuits, but he has an important social impact in Brazil.
When the South American dominated the highest category, his country was going through a difficult economic and social time.
From his time as a pilot, he participated in social actions trying to change the future of the most unprotected children in his country, and that action continued with his sister, and continues until now through the Ayrton Senna Foundation and the Ayrton Senna Institute.
On a global level, some pilots are ambassadors for the brand, starting with their nephew Bruno Senna.
Now, the French Pierre Gasly, a competitor of AlphaTauri, has joined the initiative to help raise funds for the foundation as reported on his social networks.
“I am very proud to announce that I have partnered with the Senna brand to raise money for the Senna Foundation.”
The first step will be the auction of the helmet that he used in the 2020 Emilia Romagna GP and in which he paid tribute to Ayrton Senna.
“I have donated my helmet that I used in the Imola GP to the Senna family for auction and to raise more money for the foundation we have also produced some 1: 2 scale mini helmets. Part of the proceeds from the sale of helmets will go to the Senna Foundation ”.
“I am happy to contribute to this great cause that supports the education of millions of children and young people in Brazil, and I hope that you too will join,” he concluded.
Since Senna’s death on May 1, 1994 in Imola, the foundation has carried out various acts to preserve the legacy of the three-time world champion. One of the most outstanding actions was the armbands that were given to the Brazilian athletes who competed in the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.
